Super 90 and 88 power steering

My super 90 turns very hard at low rpm and my 88 the stiff all the time do I need $1000 pump on both or is there something to check first?

I don’t know the tractor but is it steering assist or true power steering.
My Massey 20 Industrial is steering assist and, depending on the
front tires, can be difficult to steer.

I would open up the PS pump to see what the seal kit looks like. Be very careful with the black outer seal...do not damage it. How are your gear shift boots on the shifters?

My MF 85 needed the pump inlet screen cleaned a couple times, if plugged that will cause trouble too. Worth a look. While pump is out shake the drive gear shaft end, if
you see the shaft move much back and forth in the bushing pump MIGHT be worn out. Be aware, 85/88/S90 all used the same pump, BUT the S90 uses a different drive gear than
the 85/88 does so drive gears won't interchange. Tooth angle of gears are different.

Could you post a picture of the steering ram?I have been rebuilding the Bendix units for Ford and case 1953-1964 for a couple of years with great results.Rebuilt one for a Long 360 and got another Long in last week.Maybe I can help.
