I have a 1950 TO20 Ferguson. I have been working on a shorting out problem for some time now. I will do my best to keep this short but it goes on and
on. If I engage the starter with the main switch on or off the battery goes immediately to 0 volts the starter does not engage. When I disengage the
starter the battery begins to build back up to 8 volts. I have disconnected every part of the ignition system or replaced it. The generator has been rebuilt
so has the starter.
I cannot seem to find the short I have even replaced the points and condenser. If I use a 12 volt jump starter it will fire right up and run very well.
Any help will be very appreciated. Thank you very much.
