Tractor losing power and smoking badly

Massey Ferguson 135. Had complete rebuild about 7 years ago. Less than 100 hours on it since rebuild. Engine is also knocking as if it is low on oil but it is not. My first thought is to change the fuel filters and bleed lines. Any suggestions or ideas are most welcome. Thank you

If you have worked on diesel engines very much this is an option to try before pulling the injectors and having them checked. You can start the engine and leave it at idle. Loosen the injector line at the injector (one injector at a time) and see if the knock and smoke goes away. If it is hitting on that cylinder, it will develop a miss. Tighten the line and move to the next injector until you find the culprit. Just be mindful that you will be releasing pressurized fuel. So be careful. If that doesn't take care of the knock, the next things to do is check the rods and mains, look to see if you have a stuck valve, and possibly pull the injectors and scope the the cylinder.

Hopefully you just have a sticking injector or one with a bad nozzle

Did you notice if you lost oil pressure?

I agree with Dieseltech and J.Wondergem that these are the best places to start.
