Workbull 202 Throttle lever

Hey everyone,

I just picked up a '62 MF 202 Workbull and am going through fixing some issues. One thing I can't figure out after searching other forums and videos is why my throttle level will move, but not adjust the RPMs. I was trying to find diagrams to see if there was something not connected or a spring that is missing and I'm not finding any resource like that. I'm going to try to adjust the governor and links, but I don't know if that is the issue considering everything is moving freely by hand. I know the tractor has more power than it is giving me.

If anyone has any thoughts on what to inspect or has a diagram/picture of the throttle lever mechanics and how it functions, I would greatly appreciate it.

To view the on line parts book for your tractor, go to: https://apb.agcocorp.com/. In the GUEST USER area at the lower right, click on VIEW BOOKS. That will take you to the search page. Enter 202 in the bar for a model search. Check the Massey Ferguson box in the manufacturer's list and click the exact match box. Clicking those boxes will reduce the models you have to look through to find yours. You should see 202/3203/204/205 tractors (parts Book 651104) as a choice in the list. Click on that and you should have your parts book to look at. By the book there is a serial number break that applies to the 202 throttle linkage, so be aware and have or serial number at hand. HTH

You don't say anything about your foot throttle. My 202 has both the hand and foot throttle. I don't know if they made any 202's without the foot throttle.

Thanks for the replies. After taking it
apart, there was a ball joint that connects
the throttle lever to the rest of the
assembly that rusted out. Simple fix.
Thanks again!

Thats great that it is working again! My governor / throttle lever doesnt work that well, and its on my to do list. One thing Im waiting for is taking the loader off. Its a pain with all that interference. Problem is I keep finding loader projects and then it gets cold and I put it off until next year. Dont ask me how many years Ive been putting off.
