perkins 3cyl piston liners

when removing the cast liiners from Perkins 3cyl I nicked the block bores. Could I use epoxy to fill in and hone the walls? Or have I ruined the block?

How bad is "nicked"? On small nicks, and scratches I use a little emory cloth on them to make sure there is no high spots, then run a hone in the bores real quick just to make sure. I've never had any problems with sleeves doing it that way.

One of my many mistakes over the years was using the electric welder a bit too aggressively when trying to shrink the sleeves before removal. I burned through the
sleeves in spots, leaving tracks in the bores.
After filing off the high spots and then giving the bores a very light hone, the sleeves were chilled and pulled into place.
I did not use any filler in the pit holes; the engine is still running 30 years later.
