MF50 gas mounting hardware for converting generator to al...

I need a source for for hardware to mount alternator on MF50 gas. The hardware that I purchased from this site does not work. I would sure
appreciate pictures of hardware that does work. The bracket that attaches to water pump bolt needs to be slotted in order to avoid taking
the water pump fan blade off.And longer with several bends in order to align. The other problem to the alternator has to extend past the
body in order to align the pulleys. All the help will be appreciated as I have fought with the new hardware for 3 hours and ended up
putting the previous owners bad alternator back on that was over 1" out of alignment in order to mow. But it will be eating that belt in a
short time.Thank you

If you still have the old generator mounting bracket you can weld a tab on it to fit up the alternator. I will try to post a picture of mine.

I would like to see how others mounted alternator to a MF50 gas engine. It looks like the alternator has to be outside of the tractor in
order to have adjustment without hitting the frame of the tractor. The kits that I have bought place the alternator to close to exhaust
manifold and the bottom frame of the tractor. Thank you for any suggestions.

The bracket for the alternator is a flat bar 1/4 inch thick 1-1/4 inch wide and 7 inches long. weld on tabs 2 inches apart . on mine I made them 2-1/2 inches and used a nut for a spacer. I think I ground it down to fit tight..
The old alternator bracket has a 90 bent in the front for the generator mounting . So you can cut off the back tab or make one and re-weld it closer to the front of the bracket. Just measure the alternator lower mounting width. You will need to re-drill the holes on the old generator bracket to square up the pulleys.
Trying to figure out how to post the pictures.

I just slapped it onto my z134, no special brackets or anything. Could be a cleaner install, I've got a plasma cutter and welder, but this is functional and I a'int out to win any shows. It's just gotta work and not be a cob-job.

Note: I mounted mine with the wider flange at the top. Most people put the wide one at the bottom as it's supposed to be the pivot. However, with the wide mounted on the bottom it aligned perfectly with my fan belt so I just went with it.

I've got about 10hrs on it, no issues thus far, and it's nice to actually charge the battery again.
