Brakes on a 1952 MH44

No, the MH 44 has brakes on the bull pinion shafts. Early are shoe/drum brakes, IPTO equipped tractors have disc brakes, IPTO clutch pack needs removed first to get at
the right side brakes.

Thanks. So, do I have to pull the wheel or hub off, or can I get to it without doing that?

On the side of the housing below the platform you probably have something that looks similar to this

The brakes are under that cover.

it should be a brake bands on those old massey's. even my massey 44 specials are bands. pull the covers off each side and they are there. as
in picture.

Umm, if you dont know where the brakes are
how do you know they are worn out? Most
44s are drum brakes similar to an old car.
Under the cover shown below. They have an
adjustment to them. New linings are
available from YT and others.

Hey, thanks for the help. We located it. Definitely needs attention. We had tightened them up as much as possible and still had
no brakes, so we knew something was up.
