1130 hydraulic oil cooler and more ???

first Q of the day,, can the Hydraulic oil cooler be removed and replaced without taking the hood off? its leaking and needs replaced.

Next Q,, the head is seeping oil just a wee bit on the RH side,, would one try re-torqueing the head?? or need to have the gasket preplaced?? I need to replace the rocker/valve cover gaskets,, so I'd be right there to do this...

If you think that your valve cover gasket is leaking, or even may be leaking, I would replace that first before pulling the head and replacing the head gasket. It's possible that the oil is running down the head making it look like the oil is coming out between the block and the head. I'm not saying that it couldn't happen, it just isn't a very common place for an engine to leak oil.

thehud, I know where the rocker cover is leaking,,, its NOT running down the RH side
maybe pictures will help
I have hot water pressure washed, so its clean enough to see where the leaks are

Sorry for the late response.

I don't think re-torquing will get you anything. Given the number of studs that a Perkins has I can't see that being the issue. And if any of the nuts loosened, I would have to think that you would have a water leak as well.

It is just so odd for one to start leaking from a head gasket there since there isn't any pressure there.
