MF-65 multipower

Working on my MF65 that just came out of 10 year storage.
Cleaned the tank and got it running. The tractor will roll when not running but when I start it up it locks up . It will drive but if you put the clutch in it is like you put on the brakes. The Multipower does not seem to shift, it stays in high or low , I don't know which.
Where do I start looking?

The engine braking system works when in high multi-power, but there is no engine braking when in low multi-power this appears to be what you are describing. As for the shifting to low, look under the consul , their is a rod that should move up and down when the dash lever is moved. It may have come disconnected or need adjusting. To adjust you need a manual.

The tractor does not roll even in neutral if the engine is
running. The rod that you are talking about does move up and down but makes no difference.

Hi Tom, I think that you will find that one or both brakes are partially
stuck on. The likely cause of seizure is where the brake arms pivot
above the connection to the actuator . The result of this will cause the
problems you describe. Be careful freeing them as the bracket lugs
can break off easily. You may not notice the MP up or down-change
unless you are in a higher gear.

Sorry bad info, the tractor does roll with the engine running as long as it is in neutral. as soon as it is in gear, any, it locks up even with the clutch all the way down.
Where can I find how to adjust the Multipower lever? I have a shop and owners manuals and nothing I can find.

" the tractor does roll with the engine running as long as it is in neutral. as soon as it is in gear, any, it locks up even with the clutch all the way down."
With the multi-power in high, that's the way it works. First check the transmission oil level, then take it out and drive it around. With out touching the clutch while driving, move the multi-power lever up/down several times. It should speed up on its own when in high and slow down when it shifts to low. If you push the clutch in while in high the internal braking should stop it with out using the brakes. In low their is no braking effect and continues to roll. That's why they caution you not to go down hill in low. I'm not sure whether it will shift while the tractor is sitting still, I don't think it will, please be care full, drive it around on level ground and see if it is operating as I described.
