Massey Ferguson 20 Industrial Year and 3 Point Hitch

I just purchased a yellow 1976 Massey Ferguson 20 Industrial tractor,
loader, Perkins Diesel, 6 speed shuttle with high and low, 3 point
hitch. I have searched the internet and can’t find what category the 3
point hitch is and what it is capable of lifting.
Also, can anyone tell me the year ... the serial number is:
MF20 9A 239132.
Thanks,
Frank

I believe your MF 20 serial number falls in the 1975 serial number range. ptfarmer or someone will be along to confirm or correct my thought.

From info I have seen the MF 20 is basically an industrial version of the 135. If so, its 3 point hitch set up will be a category 1. Published lift capacity is 2850 lbs. This would require proper ballasting to lift this amount.

You can confirm the category of the hitch by measuring the hole for the top link pin and the hole in the balls in the draft arms that go on the equipment pins. Here is an article, with a chart of the category hole sizes, from Messick's website to help you identify yours.
