MH50 Quadrant and finger position

I'm taking apart a 1963 MH50 for parts and noticed the quadrant and finger position maybe incorrect, I believe both fingers should be towards the front of the roller. Can someone confirm? Thanks.

for the few minutes the tractor ran, the lift was going up and down, but I didn't play with the draft control. The linkage for the one at the back is really loose.

Yes, the fingers should be in front of the roller. I use the dipstick in the lower hole to hold the roller lever back when installing the lift cover.
