MF 135 leaking oil from tach housing weep hole

I have a MF 135 with the Perkins gas engine (AG3-152) that is leaking oil from the weep hole in the tachometer housing. I have just replaced both the seal in the adapter and the gasket between the housing and the cylinder head and yet it is still leaking oil. It's a fairly significant leak so it's not something I can manage by keeping the oil topped off. I've read through some of the previous posts on this topic and for the most part it appears that replacing the seal has solved the problem. I made sure to install the replacement seal facing the same direction as the old one so I don't think that is the issue.

Does anyone have any thoughts on what I should do next?

Is the seal lip forward? If the seal was replaced wrong before, and you put the replacement in the same way it's still in wrong. The lip should be forward, toward the oil.

Yes, the seal lip is facing forward. The seal that I replaced is the original factory installed seal so I paid extra attention to be sure I installed it the same way. The tractor has never needed any major maintenance so all of the seals, bearings, etc. are all original which I suppose makes anything possible at this point.

I had that problem once after replacing seal. I did not have it seated proper into cover plate. Be careful to not over tighten bolts
