MH 44 PTO shaft

MH44 has a slight wobble in PTO shaft (bent). I have a replacement, but before changing would like to find out how involved the change out will be. I'm not sure how you get the splines to line up. Does the trans cover need to come off? All advice is appreciated.

Should just pull out the back after removing the four bolts, does not need to be in gear. If it has the mechanical power lift I'm not sure as I've never removed one. Might try a long pipe first and see if it will straighten, can't hurt as it's no good the way it is..

Thanks. The tractor does not have a mecanical lift. I have a replacement shaft. Actually the current shaft is not bad, I have used it with a slight wobble for several years but since a replacement is in hand its time to replace. The job does not sound to difficult.

Follow advice given, the only thing I'll add is you may have to turn it slightly to get it to line up and slip in the engagement collar. Pretty simple

slip a pipe over the end of the shaft so you can control it better the out put end so you can raise the in put end 15 minn. job
