Marvel Schebler carb question on a 44-6

We've got a Massey 44-6 that has been sitting in the shed for the past 5-10 years or so. Decided to dig it out and get it running again for
the spring. Have spark but no fuel so guessing it needs some carb work after sitting for so long. Looking to buy a carb kit and it appears
there are two kits that work for Marvel Schebler carburetor's on the 44-6 Continental. How do I tell which carb I have? I have found two
stamped numbers "10-A32" and US Patent "1588048". Sounds like the carb/kit options differ based on if it is a TRX or TSX? Any help is much
appreciated. Thanks!

that carb looks different. I have a 44-6 and quite sure it has the other carb. I would be more concerned about just taking every thing apart on it and soaking it in carb cleaner. a gasket or two you can always make. very seldom I buy a kit. its the soaking and cleaning that does the trick not the kit.

Thanks, played around with the carb a little bit and got it to fire. Ordered a TRX kit, looks like that should be the right one based on the photo. Appreciate the help.

On a related note, I was under the impression the 6 cyl was an upgrade - had more power than the 4 cyl. Turns out that wasn't the case, maybe smoother running but not more hp based on what I have read. fun stuff.

You are right they were vary smooth running but less hp than the 4 cylinder they never made it to Nebraska to be tested the engine is smaller than the 4 cylinder being a 260 and the 6 cylinder being a 226 they are more collectible being that their were a lot less made

Carb kit did the trick, runs surprisingly well after not being started for so many years. Looking at the block on the Continental engine compared to say a Farmall Super H we had sitting next to it, the 6cyl looks to have a farily short stroke which might explain the lack of lugging power. Can see why the 4cyl versions were much more popular than the 6, assuming the 6 cost more new. Thanks all for the help, now to figure out what this screw/cap is on the side of the distributor but will start a new thread for that.

That?s a grease cup turn it in to grease it and it comes off to fill with grease
