165 hydraulic pump replacing revisited

Okay, I plan to tackle this job myself in a few weeks at my workplace where we have lifts and all the tools needed. I have a few more questions for you that have been inside this area. Both the trans and the rear area share the same fluid. When I split this case apart to get at the Hydro pump will I need a new gasket or seals ? Once I have to top ( seat area ) off can I see everything inside toward the front as I join the two half's back together ? This pump needs to come out of the front once the tractor's separated instead of the top because it has the auxiliary pump. Will the PTO still need pulled out toward the rear ?
Thanks so much for your help.

The right rear side plate cover comes off to remove the pump roller BEFORE the lift cover is removed. The MP feed line needs disconnected at the auxiliary pump front, before the trans/diff case split. Will need new gasket there. I remove the PTO shaft/bearing out the back too.

Yes, and I've read the feed tube coming up from the pump needs pulled also. The MP was removed from this tractor about 20 years ago so I'll ask the man who did the job for me back then what all he did. Believe he told me earlier this week that the line was removed and a plug added at the pump. I was told by him I could remove an idler gear to stop the auxiliary pump. We've owned this tractor about 35 years and have no use for the rear lines. Seems that pump is making the oil very hot just circulating oil.
