We have a MF 850 Rice combine with a 354 turbo/intercooled engine and a 540 MF with a 318 ? diesel .
Some of you experts , could you tell us what , if any tractors these might swap into and what modifications would be necessary... TIA

The 318 was also used in the MF 1080 & 1085 tractors also. Most of the 354s out of the combines have been put in Oliver 1850s, and you have to switch a number of things from the Oliver engine over, the MF 1100/30/05/35 also used them. The 1130/05/35 were turboed, along with the White 2-105. I'm not sure what it would take for the 354 combine motor to fit the MF tractors. Hopefully Dieseltech with chime in as he is the resident guru and cut his teeth on those ManyFriends tractors.

The MF tractors that use those engines have a cast iron oil pan that is part of the structure of the tractor. The White tractors have a front frame so they don't need a cast iron pan.

1085, 285's used the same short block - so change the pans and oil pick up and front cover - and we should have a good short block here ?

The big engine 354tc maybe a 3525 3545 or 2705 - the agcopartsbooks.com shows commonality of parts - what would be the difference - the cranks ? Lot of different pn's.. Thanks for the comments...
