Does anyone know if there was ever a stock live hydraulic pump bolted across from the governor (behind a radiator-side governor) near the carburetor, that was driven off the governor gear by some type of tabbed drive plate (not a gear). My '46 101 Junior F162 Continental has a cam-driven gear on the governor that looks to be compatible with a hydraulic pump, which would be mounted instead of the block-off plate. If you have a picture or model number of the pump it would be a great help.

I can't give you specifics, but I can say that Massey Harris used "F" series Continental engines in several models of tractors and some of them did have a hydraulic pump in that location.

I would like to know that also. I have a extra pump off of a 22 that I would like to put on a 101 junior. Wonder if I could just hook the ports up backwards on the 101. Or just put the extra 22 governor on the 101 and put the pump on were the governor was.

ear hydraulic pumps are easily reversible. Search it on the net and there are u-tube videos showing you how to do it. That way you won't have to fight the changing-ports issue. I think I found a NOS pump that is a perfect match for my F162 Continental to mate up to the governor. I'll post the results when it gets here and I try to make it fit.

I found what I was looking for! The tab slot in the governor drive gear was probably mostly used to drive a magneto on the F162 Continental. However, while I was perusing a long list of hydraulic pumps on Surplus Center's website, I came across a new old surplus Dowty pump with the tabbed drive plate. These folks were great - they measured it up to answer my questions, and when it looked like it would fit, I bought it. It bolted right up.

Now its on to welding up a custom oil reservoir, and plumb it to a short cylinder for a 3 point, and PS for the MF wide front I'm modifying to fit my 101.
