MF-240-S Starter

Ever so often I turn the key, only get a "click." Retry, get a "click". Retry get a click. Finally get a VROOOmmm! as she starts right up. Sometimes it happens, many times it does not, it just starts right up VROOOommm!
Ideas? Thx, I appreciate it.

Poor battery cable connection can cause that as can a solenoid on it way to going bad. By it clicking like you say it does the cable connections can get hot and then make good contact. Or the contacts inside the solenoid are getting bad so they do not connect well. Not long ago I had to replace a solenoid on a IH175B track loader due to the solenoid going bad.

I have the same problem on my orange jap tractor from time to time. Found that if the battery gets down even slightly it happens As long as the battery is fully charged and in good condition there is no problem.
