6.354 perkins question

I have a 6.354 off a old 70s massey ferg combine. I use it for my pressure washing rig. Noticed today that there is oil coming out of the fuel injection pump near the shaft area. Theres no oil in the fuel or vice versa. I have to use it today and tomorrow before I can look at fixing it. As long as I watch the oil levels, is there any other issues that could come up from letting it leak into a drip pan and then refilling oil as needed?

I am almost positive it is just the outter seal that is leaking although, I've never torn into a IP before so I could be way wrong.

There is a internal o-ring sealing the shaft, when the top starts leaking it's best to reseal the whole pump. If you are really mechanically inclined you can reseal it yourself (plenty of video's on youtube on how to reseal a cav injector pump), but you can mess something up if your not careful. If it looks too complex for you to do best to have a expert reseal it for you.

Since its a outter IP. If i run it as is, the risk of fuel oil mixing is extremely low correct? Only real issue i will have is oil loss correct?

Also anyone in Iowa or nearby states on here that does it? Or if anyone knows someone that does it send me a message with contact info. I'll probably also do a complete teardown on the engine sometime this spring once my new custom rig for hog barns, etc is done as I am going to turn my current one into a hydro excavation/sewer jet rig.

On the Perkins 6.354, the mounting plate the injection pump bolts to on EARLY blocks there's a gasket for sealing that plate to the block. On LATE engines that plate has an O ring that seals the oil, and when it gets hard over time oil will seep between the plate and block. I'll bet you have the later block, on most 1105/1135 MF tractors I pull that plate when injection pump is removed for repair, and replace that O ring.

Its the vertical cab 3269F150.

I am thinkinh its a O ring as its where the shsft end sticks out of the plate the IP is mounted on. Leaking like a stuck pig. Going to try and limp it through the next two days. Grabbed some oil stop leak and threw it in hopefully itll slow it a bit. If not looks like I'll be filtering a manure ton of oil all day while it runs.
