MF 50 neutral switch problem

My MF 50 has a new neutral switch I installed; and with both shift lever in neutral, no starting. Shift hi/lo back and forth but still will not turn over. If I put a jumper wire across the neutral switch the MF starts right
up. I would like to keep the neutral switch but I am not going to deal with the no starting.

Make sure the safety switch is threaded in all the way with ONE gasket, not threaded in completely or two gaskets might keep it too high for the shift rail to turn the switch on as it should with Hi/Lo in neutral-start position.

Thank you I will check to make sure I do not have 2 gaskets along with screwing it in deeper. Sometimes after mowing for several hours after shutting it off; I experience no starting problems. However, if MF sits for couple days it is impossible to get it started without jumping the neutral switch.

If you are in a cold climate it is a good idea to leave the range lever in the start position when the tractor is parked. The switch can sometimes stick in "off" when the range lever is left in gear.

Check the switch. Over the last few years I have had a couple that broke.
Check the new one (out of the tractor) to see if it was broken even when new and right out of the box.
