I am asking for help in removing a steering wheel. because of the glamor ring my puller will not work. So I need a picture of a home built puller or a manufactured one. Thank you John

Hi, if it is anything like my MF35 it is not easy. I was able to remove the steering wheel using the overhead gantry and hoist in my shop. A strong rope linked through the wheel to put very significant pressure on each spoke and tapped with a hammer. It finally popped off but I cannot imagine any other way.

It took a while to get ours to come off. Pullers, penatrating oil, and a hammer. Your patience will probably be gone well before the wheel comes off. The day ours finally gave up, my dad walked over and said if the wheel came off, we?d get rid of a different tractor that was about the same size so the 50 would be run more. Didn?t even have to use the pullers or the hammer, it just came off...

Hi, sadly all to often I have had to cut steering wheels off with an angle grinder. 35s seem to be more prone to this, perhaps because of their age. Replacement wheels should be readily available. Will try and post photo of my puller later.

Thank you for the suggestions and technique. I was hoping that it would be as easy as my Farmall H but now I know I am in for a fight. I will look forward for more suggestions and pictures. Thank you John

Here is how I got the wheel off my mf202 which is the same as the mf35. I used a clamshell type bearing puller. I had soaked it with penetrating oil for a couple days, then applied the puller to it. I didn't try using brute force. I tightened as much as I dared and left it. Then every two or three hours sprayed it again with the oil, tapped on the stud with a hammer and tightened it a bit if I could. I kept this up for two days and on the third day I went out there and sprayed it again a tapped it with a hammer. Then I tightened just a bit more and it popped loose.

Sometimes it just takes patience.
