1973 MF 135 Orchard UK, Diesel engine, 2 stage clutch. I had the tractor injectors and pump rebuilt.
First question If the PTO is in ground speed and you hit the clutch would that stop the PTO shaft like it does under power?
When I got it back the PTO ran fine. I have not engaged the PTO since (a year) Today when I tried to run the PTO, the lever moves freely, with the tractor off I can hear it click and stop in each position. When I run the tractor its only in ground speed. It doesn't stop when I move the selector to neutral or power. in fact when I pull the level up for power with no clutch there is no grinding at all. I have not taken the side off yet because im not sure what I will be looking at.
Do I need to drain off any fluid to open the side port? I know the rear pump for the lift arms was having issues but im told that shouldn't affect the PTO. Any help here would be great, video pictures etc... Im not shade tree, but I do tinker some.
