MF202 steering help

OK, i've reached the point you see in the picture below. So what do I have to do to get the steering shaft out?

As I shared by email.

Rotate the shaft. Snap a vise grip on it. When you rotate it the ball will rise. At least it did with mine. I also remember pushing on the pitman arm to jiggle things. If yours still is giving you trouble loosen the cover and if necessary remove the sector gear cover. Note the position of the gear.

The pics are for the models with the power rack. The 202 won't have the piston but the disassembly may be similar.
