Massey 35 Perkins sloppy throttle linkages

I am having trouble with my Massey 35 throttle linkage. It s so sloppy I have trouble getting full throttle or idle. That rod that goes under the battery is definitely sloppy. Anything I can do to tighten things up so I get full throttle range again?

I'd start with repairing/replacing any worn parts, that will help get back the full travel at the injection pump throttle lever.

Thanks - do you know if there is supposed to be a spring on the throttle lever on the pump? Looks like I should have one pulling on the throttle lever toward idle but I can't tell.

Nope, MF never used a spring there.
