My starter is pretty well shot. The number is Delco-Remy 1108498 near as I can tell. Seems to come back to a Pontiac? Nothing with that number listed on this sites part store. ???

Info off "YT" parts.

Starter - Don't see the starter you need for your tractor? We probably have it! Just call us at 800-853-2651 with your make, model, engine cubic inches (CID) and number off your old starter and we will see if we can find it!

I've called "YT" pertaining to other parts, they were able to assist me...

That 1108498 number doesn't show up in the MF parts book, what is the serial number of the tractor (can get the part number that way).

I think that for the gas it was similar to an auto starter, I think that I may have a used
one for a gas 65 as I parted one out, email is open.

....................................................................................................................You most likely have one by now....just wanted to add i went through this and got one with same no of teeth...when i tighten it up it would lock up in flywheel...,i had replaced ring gear so my mind when wild..could shim it on outside, cocking it and it would work...long story short..i had a repo repair manual and it listed delco # and i came up with a # on drive, got a new one on ebay for a hoyster, massey ,studabaker willis application but # was right..fixed problem..this stuff will throw you a curve..same # of teeth, but there was a big differance my eyes couldn't see..also yours may be new enough but i sure kicked myself for not getting a starter with solenoid made on it instead of the throwout bendix...... that is not as good as design
