Well I built a brand new engine and it would crank up with 70 lbs and as it warmed up it would slowly start to drop. I would watch it over a period of an hour it would be down to 20. I couldn't stand that it did that when it hit 20 I would shut it off and leave it alone. Everyone said be happy with 20 lbs but I knew something wasn't right. The new engine had a new oil pump .010/.010 crank and new bearings, sleeves, pistons and rings plus I had the head reworked. So I finally pulled the front cover off and found that the shop who vatted the block had taken out the small oil gallery plug and didnt put it back. This meant that only the backside of the front cover was holding back 70 lbs of oil pressure and when I looked at the gasket it was blown out and leaking high pressure oil back to the pan. See photos. Now does anyone know where I can get the small plug for the oil gallery if not I can machine a small brass plug freeze it and tap it into the hole.
