This is a follow up to my post Fri Jun 28 on PTO Cover removal to replace the PTO lever. That job has been completed, but now I am having intermittent problems with the hydraulics. Before this project started there were intermittent problems with the lift, but they chalked them up to the filter that hadn't been cleaned in a while It would always work itself out eventually, but they always had the intention to clean it when time allotted.
Now after replacing the PTO lever and putting everything back together again the lift and remote hydraulics stopped working. Initially the lift worked for about 5 mins, then quit. A couple hours later with the hay baler the remote quit working. Reflecting back to the filter, I drained everything again and cleaned the filter. After refilling the fluid, the lift and remote immediately started working again. Fixed... or so I thought. After a few days the lift has quit working again but so far the remote still works. I expect it too to quit working.
Any ideas on what the could be the problem? Does the system need to be bled? If so, where? A lot of the external hydraulic components had to be removed to get the PTO cover and lift cover off so the system was completely drained.
