OEM Massey Ferguson parts for old tractors now come from AGCO. But AGCO was not making these tractors back then, so they are now getting their parts made by suppliers. So to you guys that have done a lot of rebuilds, do you find any quality difference between AGCO parts and aftermarket parts? except a higher price????? Does AGCO have higher quality control and standards?

Hi, genuine parts are not always dearer. Have an ongoing job at the moment. A front crownwheel and pinion for a 3095 has a rrp of ?1500 from my non-genuine parts supplier. The MF price is around ?900 both plus sales tax. It's always worth comparing major parts prices. If you think about it, very few companies can afford tooling to make parts if there is maching etc required so the parts will come from a small number of factories in India, China or wherever. In terms of material quality, yes probably a difference but if a repair is for pleasure and not a working machine then that should be ok. For things like replacement sheet metal they are generally not as accurate or as thick as the original.....back to the cost of tooling again! Sheet metal of original thickness could be a lot more difficult to work.
Generally it is only experience that will tell you which is the best to stick with. I use Bepco parts as much as possible as I have found them to be very good, well made (for the price) and give a satisfactory life. Don't know if you have MF '10plus' parts for older tractors but a 'genuine' 10plus brake cylinder bought some years ago had 'Vapormatic' stamped in the back of it! You cant win!!!!!!

I happen to be cleaning the barn, this morning, and have run across a jar with Massey-Ferguson flasher blinkers and fuses, I managed to get on ebay and some from someplace in Turkey. As I google the parts numbers, they are all unavailable, no longer etc. etc., Made by Sanel, whoever Sanel is or was. Some parts are Hella, some are Autoplicity. Whatever or wherever I got that stuff, who knows? Point being, this stuff is invaluable, never to be seen again, you best get the parts while you can, regardless of your opinion.
