Have a Ferguson TO-30 and I don't know much about them, got the tractor in a trade. But the 3-pt arms won't hold bush hog up. The arms work great
up and down and smooth. Even with arms up and nothing attached, the arms settle back down after time . What do I check?

If the lift arms will hold the bush hog up when the engine is idling it's still good. With the engine off it's normal for the arms to drop down. The lift cylinder uses a piston ring type seal which leaks a little. How fast do the arms drop with nothing on them, a few minutes, few hours, or.

if bush hog slooooooooooowly settles down with eng. off probably not much of a problem. if crashes down then there is a problem.

(quoted from post at 02:05:53 08/30/19) A few hours after turning engine off.
That's pretty much normal. If it drops the bush hog while the engine is idling then I would worry about. You really have no real reason to park it with a implement raised up, that's a accident waiting to happen.

Yes I agree about leaving the implement up, guy wants to
trade me for a Super M formal, just wanted to be sure it will
pick and hold a bush hog up

Hello C Fitz, as others stated the TO30 three point was not designed to maintain the up position without the hydraulics engaged. That being said, I do have one that will stay up for days and another that starts to drift down right after shutting her off. Stop over on the Ferguson forum for a lot more info.
