I have a 1958 Massey 50 with the continental engine in it.
Lately, I've noticed an issue that when I go down hill, the engine RPM skyrockets (2200ish) and if I go up hill, the RPM decreases drastically (sometimes as low as 1000rpm). On flat ground, it holds RPM relatively well, unless under load (e.g. getting into thick brush while bush hogging).
I'm pretty new to this tractor, so I'm not sure where to start. To anyone who may know, is this sounding like an issue with the governor, throttle linkage assembly, or something completely different.
For what it's worth, I bought this tractor about 5 years ago with information that it had undergone a complete restoration. It now has about 975 hours on it. (In case that means anything)
Thanks you in advance to anyone who may be able to help!
