MF 135 steering issues

Good day. here is my steering issues.

Systoms
1. power steering fluid coming out of the steering box breather. I believe its the breather but not sure. it is just in front of the steering wheel shaft. (see attached picture)

2. the steering wheel will turn to the right ease. however turning the wheel to the left there is no power steering assist.

possible cause: while pushing a pile of branches in 1st gear low, the front right tire got caught on a branch and steering wheel and tires turned to the far right hard. i was able to back up and continue, but shortly after the leak started.

any help would be appreciated. thanks

I think that's the pressure relief valve. You may need to jack up the front and turn wheels stop to stop in order to fix plus make sure the fluid level is good. I'm putting power steering on a diesel 35 and having troubles with the hose routing. Would you take another pic of your steering sector showing the hoses and battery box if yours is a diesel.

I tried turning the wheels from stop to stop with the front end jacked up. it still is leaking fluid through the valve. What i did notice is that when turning to the left there no fluid leak. but when turning the wheel to the right i did get the fluid leak.

is the cap assembly the actually valve and replaceable? I can not find any diagram in my manual or online so far the has the break down this box.

I hate to bother you again but I'm having troubles hooking up my fuel lines both to tank and filter and both left and right sides. Got my painting done along with PS routing {thanks again}Could you take a couple of pics of the fuel lines? This is the only diesel I own. I looked at YT's site for you a new PRV to no avail you may need to replace it to fix your problem.

thanks for looking into the part. i did call my local tractor parts store about the pressure release valve. as you my know it is build into the power steering pump. They did have a aftermarket pump in stock and are shipping it to me. with good luck it will fix the issue and the price was not bad, under $100

UPDATE: new power steering pump arrived, install went well but still the same issue.

1. fluid leak out of the valve at the top of the steering box
2. hard time turning tires to the left under tractor weight.
3. turning to the right power assist work.
4. Leak is most prevalent when turning from the wheel from left under pressure to the right.

Does your tractor have the hydraulic steering cylinders out by the front wheels, or is it the single one on the front of the steering box? Since you got fluid coming out the steering box you have a seal in the steering valve that's no good, or something broke. Take the power steering hoses of the power steering pump, get the front wheels off the ground, and with the engine off turn the front wheels left and right several times to see if its still hard to steer to the left, or if it gets easier, and or if you can feel something that doesn't feel right in the steering wheel (hard spots, roughness).

It is the single one on the front of the steering box.

With the tires are off the ground, hoses off the power steering pump and engine off. it turns left and right with ease with full range, no hard spots, roughness or sign of anything catching.

Look on top of the steering box between the cylinder, and the steering column to make sure the top is not bowed up, or if its cracked. On that type of power steering setup it will usually, but not always bust the top on the steering box, and mess up the cylinder. It could have blown a seal out in the cylinder, or it broke something in the control valve on the steering column. The cylinder could be removed, and tested with air to make sure its ok, but the control valve is probably where the problem is.

good day, well i finally parking the tractor in the shed, I had time to disassemble the tractor and pull the steering box. so far i found the that the "Steering rack, pin and rod" broke.

As i look to find these parts, i would appreciate and advice and information on the steering box rebuild. Is there anything specific i should look out for and/or test to make sure is working properly before reassembly. thanks

Need some advice. I was able to source the repair parts for the steering rack that broke and new o-rings and seals.

I got the steering box back on the tractor and working. However it looks like i misaligned the the gears and the rack once I reassembled the steering box and power steering cylinder.

My turning radius is now half of what it should be. Does anyone have some advice on the proper way to align the rack and gears during assembly?

the service manual I have does not appear to have the information on this particular steering box and cylinder.

Thanks for any help
