My 1962 perkins 35 does'nt get used much these days and it's a while since the pto was used.
It used to work ok, but when I tried to engage the pto this week it just grinds the gears.
I adjusted the pedal to 3/8" as stated in the manual for a two stage clutch.
I measured the three adjusting bolts at 1.6 so I adjusted these to 0.9 as stated in the manual but no change.
I then adjusted them to 0.6 as stated here on the forum. Still no change.
The clutch has 12 yellow springs which I believe is an 11" version.
As I needed to finish the job I'd planned, I engaged the clutch before starting and could use the pto ok.
The bight points are now a lot closer, so I think I'll put it back to 0,9 next time I play with it.
The only thing I can think of is that a bit of the clutch plate or something has come loose and is dragging the clutch.
Any tips or advice welcome. I'm not planning on splitting the tractor. - Mike
