Ran across a 1973 MF135 with a perkins gas engine that I did not even know existed. Were these engine at all popular or even any good for a tractor? The tractor has a very heavy-duty rear axle and power steering on the front.

The Perkins is a good engine. It was also made in a diesel version which is the same design. I had one and it was trouble free. They are bullet proof. IMO
