Fluids and filters on MF 150.

I have a new 150 and I'll be doing the oil and hydraulic fluid changes for the first time. It's hard to find info on the 150 bc it's kind of a cross between a 135 and 165 from what I understand.

Motor: I can't find the part number for the right oil filter for the Perkins diesel. I've read is 15w40, I usually use 10w 30 or 40 in Western NY where I plow in some single digits temps and I would never use it over 90 degrees. Is 15w40 still best? Is 6 1/2 quarts the right amount?

Trans/3 point:. I can't find the part number for the right replacement screen/filter for the hydraulics. Anyone know the part number? I also want to flush out the system with diesel...should I do this before or after I replace the screen? And does the sump take 7 1/2 or 8 gallons I've gotten mixed info on that.

Thank you so much for your help, the shop manual I have leaves out a lot to say the least.

The Owner's Manual answers all of your questions;-)
Whatever oil you choose ensure that it is rated for Diesel engines, 15w40 is fine.
Not sure on the strainer, there seems to be a couple of choices. Check the parts on this site.
Some use diesel to rinse the hydraulic fluid, some only use more hydraulic fluid.
I've used a Fram or equivalent PH2870 for years with no problems, if you have a choice between a fat one and a skinny filter pick the skinny one for a spin-on.

I don't have the spin on style filter, it's the old school canister type.

There is a conversion kit that makes it use a spin on, I think YT parts here sells them. They also "should" carry the old cartridge type filter.

These are for a diesel.

Awesome thank you! I guess I should have searched here first haha

Is this the right screen for the hydraulics? https://www.yesterdaystractors.com/Massey-Ferguson-150_Lift-Pump-Filter_521451M1.html

And do you need one or two O rings? https://www.yesterdaystractors.com/Massey-Ferguson-150_Hydraulic-Pump-Filter-O-ring_831907M1.html

You got me on that one:-( You may want to check AGCO parts and along with your serial number you can get the correct one the first time. Use the Guest option. At .24 cents I don't see how you go wrong buying two;-)

Is there a substitute for the tranny/hydraulic fluid? I can't seem to find a source for the Massey branded fluid

I talked to the nearest Massey Ferguson dealer, which is about 100 miles from me, about Permatrans for my MF30B and he suggested I use any oil the met the spec. I ended up going with Chevron THF 1000 which I bought at the local NAPA.
