MF 50A steering problem.

Hello.
My tractor front wheels wouldn't turn, regardless how many times you spin the steering wheel on either direction. I have just rebuild the power steering pump to no avail.
As you turn the steering wheel, the front wheels initially move a little bit, I mean barely noticeably.
There are no steering fluid leaks anywhere, I mean on the hand pump, the cylinders or hoses.
I've read it could be the steering valve (MF part number 192183M91), and wonder if anybody else has possibly gone through something similar. So far, I haven't been able to find this valve available, new or used.
Any hints, please?

I have a 202 and nothing is similar to the 50, but I have learned a few things.

1. I would verify that the pump is working as it should.
2. Make sure that the hydraulic lines are free of collapse or obstruction
3. Determine if the orbital valve is directing the fluid through the proper cylinder lines.
4. Determine if the cylinders are leaking internally.

Should the issue be your orbital valve, I am in the process of installing an after market orbital valve to replace my mechanical/power assist steering. The salesman said that the repair parts are basically o-rings. If that is the case either you or a shop could rebuild it. With some minor fabrication a non MF orbital valve could be installed.

If you go the replacement route, knowing either the specs of the current valve or total capacity of the cylinders needs to be figured out so you select a valve that will provide the number of turns from Right lock to left lock.

For me it has been an annoying process.

You sure you have the hoses hooked up to the pump properly? Pump is full and building proper pressure and system is bled of air? Why did you rebuild it to begin with? If everything worked more or
less ok before rebuild, then something must of gone wrong in rebuild and/or reinstall process.

The tractor wouldn't turn to the right, and short after it stopped turning to the left. Hoses are untouched and I haven't noticed any leaks. Because it wouldn't turn either way I thought perhaps is something common to both sides, so I started by rebuilding the power steering pump.
After rebuilt, I proceeded with a sequence: turn engine on-turn steering wheel left and right several times-stop engine-refill pump reservoir, until reservoir level remained constant.
I can't guarantee there is no air in the system, but it is as far as I've reached. I know the pump is working to some extent because:
- with the engine on, there is some resistance on the steering wheel which you don't feel with engine off.
- as you start turning either side, the front wheels briefly move. I mean is more of an initial shaking than really turning.
I still can't tell the pump is putting out the correct pressure.
