Hello everyone. I noticed fluid leaking underneath my tractor, the fluid was dripping from the bolts that hold the bracket for my swinging drawbar. After further inspection I noticed a previous owner installed a helicoil type of insert and must have drilled it in to deep. Ugh!. Now what? Can any type of sealant be used in this situation? Any suggestions ?

Going to have to drain the fluid, get the hole and bolt cleaned up really clean with some solvent, then fill the hole with red silicone
sealant and reinstall the bolt. I've used that method with good success as log as there is no pressure in the system such as the rear end.

Hi, I would agree with what Phil has said. Drain the oil and thoroughly clean the thread area with the best solvent you can get. Closely inspect the holes in the casing to ensure that it has been helicoiled. In the UK we have the Loc-tite brand of thread sealer. Replace the bolt with a suitable stud and tighten using reasonable force and refit your hitch.
Looking on the black side I repaired a 35 many years ago that had several crownwheel bolts break. One became caught between the c/wheel and the casing and cracked it. It is unlikely that a similar event has happened here but keep that possibility in mind.
