Unfortunately it?s time to sell my gasoline MF65. It?s been restored, not for parades but for work. Does anyone have any suggestions where I can advertise? Someplace where people who appreciate antique tractors shop?

It has the following assets;
Gasoline ‪MF65‬ with additional crawler transmission,ROPs, front weight rack (not shown), good tires.? Rebuilt: engine, carburetor, clutch, steering gear, front axle, brakes and rear axle bearings, axle planateries, power steering pump, gauges.? Custom additions: 12VDC x 20 amp outlet on rear, water extinguisher brackets, hitch receiver. Lots of new parts and custom made parts. Includes manuals, custom built pullers, gaskets, left over parts.

What do you mean by "additional crawler transmission"? All 65s had a 3 speed/1 reverse transmission with a high/low range for 6 forward gears and 2 reverse. Later models could also have the optional Multi-Power which doubled the number of gears.

Bob,
If you look closely at the picture you will see another transmission behind the usual one. When you shift the crawler transmission into low, along with 1L in the front transmission, the tractor will crawl slow enough you can get off it and work behind it. It thought it was a great addition, it increases capability plus the additional leg room was an added bonus.

Slomo .... some clever guys sneak a picture and a good description of their tractor right on the YT discussion forums (like Massey Harris or Massey Ferguson Tractors) even though they should be using the YT classifieds. The discussion forums probably get more attention.

Technically, yes there are 12 speeds forward. However there is some overlap. I?ve only experimented with the crawler transmission but in my assessment, low gear in the crawler has approximately the same reduction as low range in the front transmission. So what that means, you can put the front transmission in high range and the crawler in low range and the performance would be the same as just low range in the front transmission. The only time you would use the crawler is when you?re in low range in the front transmission. So really it only gives you 3 more gears forward. I suspect the crawler works in an ?in and out? fashion and as I mentioned, with the same gear reduction as low range in the front transmission. I hope that makes sense. The aspect of it that I really appreciated was the extra leg room.

Hi everyone from the UK. The additional 'reduction box's was specifically that. It gave a range of speeds for very slow jobs in addition to the standard box. Very few people would have any use for it other than being a nice extra. The bonus for more normal work is that the engine is six inches further forward
. This is useful if you are carrying something on the back end which makes the steering light. Adds more weight to the front wheels. The UK-made 148,168 and 188, 'the 8-line's had the plain spacer fitted to make them a higher spec version of the 135 Tec.
