MF65 Hyd pressure problem

My MF65 is a 1961 model. Last fall the hydraulics were jerky, both the 3pt and the loader. I referred to my ITmanual and eventually replaced the hyd pump (sourced from YT) It was operating smoothly, and I used it all winter pushing snow. I noticed that it was struggling to lift a loaded heavy wet bucket so I put a oil pressure guage on the test port and only register about 800psi. The manual calls for 2300-3000psi. I took the inspection cover off and could not see much of a disturbance of the oil going on and replaced the stand pipe O rings as well. Could it be that the pressure relief valve on the pump is not set for higher pressure and how do I check if it is not. Thanks for any tips. I can use it the way it is but it doesn't lift much. Leon

I had to replace the HYD. PUMP on my MF FE 35 X......

All Pipe plugs were loose to the touch on the NEW PUMP...
.
New Pump had incorrect PIPE PLUGS (NPT) installed in all Male threaded NPT ports.

All PIPE PLUGS were bottoming out in the MALE NPT bores!!!!!!!

Old pump had longer MALE NPT PLUGS and were installed in the NEW PUMP.

I had NEW Relief Valve checked for reliving PSI and it was satisfactory.

Do you still have the OLD PUMP?

Thanks for the reply Bob, I don't know what oil pressure I was getting with the old one, never did test it. I still have it on the bench. It was a rebuilt one I installed about 25 years ago and had to return my original core. I guess I am going to have pull it out and compare the two, just have to find the ambition to do it!!! I will keep your information handy. thanks again. Leon ps:also have a some other coloured ones.
