Mf 135 mystery part

A friend of mine is looking at a mf135 diesel. On the injection pump is a socket that looks like a medium base light bulb socket complete with the center contact. I have a gas 65 and 165 so this is a mystery to me. I'm guessing it's a heater but have no idea. Any help would be appreciated. Ken Mumma

Need to see a photo, been repairing those pumps since the 70s end never saw anything like that on a pump yet. Never saw that at any of the CAV service schools either.

its actually on a housing attached to the front of the pump. The housing is about 6 inches in diameter and about 3 to 4 inches wide. I can't get you a photo. Thanks for the help.

(quoted from post at 20:26:36 01/06/19) On the timing cover in front of the injection pump is where the oil fill is on that engine.
I looked at some diagrams I have in some of my repair manuals and it is the oil fill port, but someone installed something in it. Maybe its some kind of oil heater. If he gets the tractor I'll figure it out and let you know. Thanks for getting me going in the right direction.
