MHF 202 Power Steering Rebuild Questions

The last major undertaking for this round of 202 projects is the steering. I have what I hope is all the O-Rings and seals to do with the new shaft. I have information from Big Dean's writeup, two workshop manuals and AGCO for part assembly reference. But I have found that when working on other components that they did not 100% agree and forum members with real world experience provided direction.

When putting it back together, from what I understand, the first main step will be the timing of the main shaft to the pitman shaft. I have the pitman shafts soaking and have not yet looked for any markings that show up in one of the manuals. Another says to place the shaft into the bearing and rotate until the lower tooth is seen on the ball nut through the right side then install the lower pinion shaft, with the blank portion down and mesh the first tooth on the lower pinion shaft to the lower tooth on the ball nut.

if this is indeed the first step and the above makes sense then I can follow the instructions for the upper pinion shaft.

OR

If there is a better way to do it.

Appreciate the help,
Don
