Finally got my 245 lift shaft out by soaking, beating and finally pressing it out and have new bushings ordered. Got the pump to come out by loosening all the tranny to hydraulic housing and after degreasing it found one of the 4 valves snap rings looks kicked out of its groove. I would like to know the cheapest way to fix without having to go back and redo. This is my first tractor with lift problems requiring a pump pull.

I just bought a brand new pump on eBay for $195. Rebuild kit was $100, relief valve was $25, new filter was $15. So for the $60 more dollars I went with the whole new pump. This was in a 65 Massey.

Well got to figure out which pump I have the only # I have is on the valve body which is 1868435m3 and according to AGCO all models carry that one.

The main thing is to get the one with correct amount of drive splines on the pump shaft. The old MF pumps have a 10 spline pump shaft, the newer 245 should have the 21 spline pump shaft.

I've been looking at AGCO numbers for the 245 and then looking elsewhere the same number is listed for others but not the 245. All the ones with same number are over 500. May go with a rebuild kit.

They're showing two pumps on this site for like $550. Yikes. I did see a couple on eBay for around $300. These were 21 spline but the relief valve appeared to be in a different location. I think they were referred to as MKII.
