202 Loader Bucket

All though my old friend is still in surgery on the driveway, the last item I have on my list until I get to working on the backhoe is the front bucket. The blade is cracked and the bottom torn open is several places. I can either buy the welding equipment and steel and learn how to weld, have it repaired or buy a new one.

So far buying a new one or having it repaired will cost about the same. I was told $500 in material was needed (seems high to me) to fix it. I see new buckets on ebay for $500 to $800

Any ideas on the weight of the current bucket and or what the max weight of a replacement should be? I would guess to some degree that is impacted by rear weight.

thank you for the input,
Don

Have you checked out craigslist. Sometimes you can find an entire loader needing cylinders and hoses for less than a bucket. Meanwhile I have a 204 that I'm planning to turn into a 205 with 3 cyl. diesel. Hope to see some pics of the 202.

I have been looking and we have a tractor bone yard an hour from here. Nothing so far is bolt in. Issue will be the cost of modifying the brackets.
Thanks,
Don

Maybe find a junked out Bobcat skid steer, get the quick attach plate off of it, then have it made to fit on your loader. Then you could get any kind of bucket, or attachment made for a Bobcat, then your loader will be much more versatile.
