Haven't used my multi power on my 275 for several years due to a linkage issue under the cover and a lack of a decent place to work on it. Well now I have a place to work on it and would like to fix it this winter. Pretty sure all it is is the rod that goes thru the cover came unhooked from the actuator on the trans. Assuming that's all it is and I get it fixed, will I have any trouble with multi power from not using it?

Sounds promising then as it worked fine before the rod came unhooked. Reason I suspect the rod is earlier that year I had some trans work done on that required removing the cover. Judging by what I see in the service manual I think they forgot to put a cotter pin back in...
BTW how hard is it to remove that cover?

Every time my MF 550 had sat unused for a couple of months or more, the multipower was always reluctant to start working again - but would
come back to life (and then stay working) after a couple of hours of field work. So when you get the linkage fixed, don't despair if it
doesn't work straight off. That's my experience anyway! Jim
