Where are parts made?

I regularly buy parts non-tractor parts for a variety of machines. Almost 100% of the time the country where the parts are made are clear. With my parts buying for my MHF 202, it has been the opposite.

Any ideas as to where the parts are made or why it is not clear. I am guessing a reg allows it.

Almost exclusively made in China . There are of course good and bad manufacturers there as in any country . Most gauges are made in India as are many peripheral electric components such as generators .
Some good , some bad but overall it is a boon being able to buy new parts for a sixty year old tractor from anyone .
 
I would agree although quality and 'fit'
can vary widely. It does not take
microscopic examination to see the
difference. Things like sheetmetal parts
may well need a degree of 'fitting' because
really it is not possible to exactly
replicate the originals the tooling for
which would have cost a fortune at the
time. Yes, we are lucky to be able to buy
parts for 60 and 70 year old machines. As
long as there is a world-wide market
someone somewhere will produce the parts.

We are very lucky, to be able to buy parts for machines designed 100 years ago. I have a Farmall H, designed almost a century ago, and I can buy any and every part for it. I can get NOS, used, reman, or scrap yard. Try that in a century with electronics for current tractors.
 


Mostly made in Asia these days with recycled steel.
Money won't buy the stuff that was put into those tractors/machinery when first manufactured.
