Re: Richard G power steering pump. I see that his pump fill plug is positioned lower than mine. There are two marks on the cover that look like alignment marks. Which one should be aligned with the pump body mark? Mine is aligned the bottom mark. Does it matter?

I'd use the mark that leaves at least one inch air space, since those systems are not vented and will build housing pressure as oil heats up. Most pumps will work fine with the fill just above the center bolt level, but several turns to get the air out and re-fill will be needed.
