New to site, sure this has been discussion before. Have a 1975 Massey 165 with perkins engine. When the weather gets below 32 degrees I have to change out fuel filters every time I use the tractor due to either jelling or freezing fuel.Try two different types of additives with no help over the last few years. Looking at buying fuel filter heaters and fuel tank heater. Any help to the problem would be greatly appreciate.

It's sounds like you have a water problem. I'd drain and
flush the tank. In really cold weather I cut the fuel with
straight kerosene.

I'm interested in your location.
Refineries produce Winter Grade Fuel that is automatically sold to customers here in North Western Canada. Two weeks ago we had -40 daily over a period of 8 days. Diesels never Jelled off. Winter grade fuel runs ( process at refiners) start at the Refineries in early Fall.
I ran my Case 970 ploughing Snow that sits out side with a block heater. Same for my 2006 Dodge Ram 3500 Cummins.
I's suspect other than just Diesel in your machines fuel Tank?

I have a late model 65 diesel which has the same engine as your 165. I have been running it for years on fuel oil I pump out of my furnace tanks. I add 1 once of Power Service to one gallon of fuel. We have had sub-zero weather lately and it ran fine this morning.
Something does not sound right with your
fuel jelling at temps just below freezing.
My current 165 and 265, and prior 135D
always started and ran fine in temps down to
12 F, like yesterday morning. Like others
said look for water accumulation, perhaps in
tank if you've been replacing filters
already.
