I just bought a good running massey 85 gas tractor at an auction for $1200. The rear tires are bald but are 18.4x30 which I think are a little wide fo that tractor. Did they make 38" centers for this tractor and if so, where can I get them? I would much rather have a narrower rear tire like 15.5 x 38 or 13.6 x 38 than those wide 18.4 tires.

18.4x30 was the most common tire on the 85. 38 inch tires were also available.

I think the rims, and centers from a MF65 tractor will fit the 85, the 12x38 rim will use a 13.6x38 (61 1/2" tall) tire. The 13.6x38 will be about 1" taller than the 18.4x30. The MF65 also came with a 28" rim, and a 13.6x28 (51 1/2" tall) tire. The MF65 also has rim that takes a 16.9x28 (56 1/2" tall) tire.
