Im 25 years old first time working on a big tractor before. Always worked on lawn tractors. Me and my brother are working on a Gas MF 35 with a bucket on it. Today we cracked it open because we are changing the clutch on it. Its a dual clutch. We ordered and dual clutch off of ebay and it came in today. But it looks different than the one on it. It looks like the one in the link............ http://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=350486906944&hlp=false#ht_2000wt_698

The one we ordered looks like this one in this link................. http://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=230438024173&hlp=false#ht_500wt_715

Can we use the one we got or do we send it back and get the other one.

There are at least 2 maybe more pressure plates/clutches that go with the 35's. People on ebay don't seem to specify if it's "to" or "mf".Mine is a 57 to35 and both the pto and drive clutch came from parts section on this site. They were correct and cheaper than ebay, one is 11 inch and the other 9 if i remember correctly. If the ones you order don't match the ones you got with ebay it's to bad, but if you order from YT then it's in their ballpark if they send the wrong stuff.Dual's are hard to set up correctly, but with the right info it's not that bad.Don't forget the throw out bearing and if the bellhousing was wet with fluid then it's in need of rear main seal or front tranny seal. That's where I'm at!!

Can we use the one that we got off of ebay that looks like the one in the second link? Or do we send it back and order the one in the first link that looks like the one we have on the tractor?

Below is the one on the tractor now.

The 1 off ebay is like mine, the rusty one is like tony in Mass, he posts alot and had pics of his back 2 months or more. I think both will work and both require a different main and pto pressure plate. Just type in clutch in the search space on both ferguson and the MF page to see his. With either you will need to disassemble and count the splines and measure the plate across before ordering.

I found the pic of Tony's clutch in the ferguson forum, just type "evil" in the search block and click on his post. He will be of more help with your original, but if you decide to rebuild the one off ebay, then pay careful attention to the half moon springs, they look alike but the one with the red mark goes to the flywheel and the yellow to the pto clutch, hope you have a manual.John UK can send you the pages in manual you will need.

My best piece of advice for you is to contact Doug Long Enterprises. He has been instrumental to the success I've had rebuilding this 165. Like you, I'm only 24 and have NEVER played with a tractor of this size. He's answered about a million tech questions and has gotten the right parts to me EVERY time. His supplier forgot to send the gaskets. Once brought to my attention, I had them on my doorstep in a day or two, no questions asked. He worked for Massey back when these tractors were coming in the doors on a daily basis, so he remembers them pretty well.

Hope this helps and I'm not stepping on anyone's toes
Mike

What is this I heard 2? Search the word 'evil', and my name comes up? Hummmm. Does it mention my metalic naru jacket and hairless cat?
After all the piston and kit varieties I am dealing with on the 165, my faith is everything MF been standard is failing fast.
I'd say with this this clutch job, put it in- properly and carefully, without reinstalling the loader... and see what happens.
