1130 Injector Problem?

I"ve been trying to figure out where the fuel in my Engine oil on my 1130 is coming from, I"ve replaced the lift pump, checked the Injector pump seals and they appear to be fine, I think I"ve narrowed it down to a possible Injector Problem? The Owners Manual states if there is Engine Knocking that it"s a faulty Injector, and occassioinally under load it will scare the heck out of me and a puff of smoke, then it clears, Oil Pressure never drops, and I"ve replaced the turbo. Lately it seems to run fine, but i do notice a puff of smoke which seems to be rather consistant with one of the cylinders. Could this be a Injector, or worse, rings? How does one tell which Injector to check, and how does one know if it"s bad? Also should they all be replaced or can one replace only one or two depending on how they are?

You didn"t say how many hours were on the injectors. They can be tested, cleaned, and rebuilt if necessary or they can be replaced with new ones. You don"t have to replace them all. if you know which won is bad you can get it rebuilt or replace it. If the tractor has a lot of hours I would consider having them checked as a minimum and possibly rebuilt. A good diesel repair shop or someone who rebuild pumps and injectors can do this for you.

You really want to make sure they don"t leak because that can cause a burn out of the piston crown. While you have the out, check your compression. If one is leaking you may allready have damage to that piston.

Honestly I do not know how many hours are on the injectors, I got the tractor from my dad who never took care of anything, it had approximately 1200 hours on a rebuild when he bought it, and the meter no longer works, I don't know how many hours he put on it, and i've likely only put a few hundred on it myself. As soon as I have the field cut I'm going to have to pull the injectors and have them checked out, now I only have to find someone here in the Thumb of Michigan that can do this....

how much fuel is getting into the oil,if it's raising the level much it would have to be the injector pump seal or lift pump double check each one, a leaking injector will usually cause blue or white smoke, engine pinging, not to say you don't have one going bad,one way to locate the cylinder that's giving trouble if it puffing a little blue or white smoke when running at normal temperature is to remove exhaust manifold and run it for a minute or two to see which exhaust port the smoke is coming from that will give you a starting point to locating your problem, run into a problem with a 510 combine that smoked blue run fine no oil consumption just blue smoke, pulled injectors found 2 copper washers under a couple of injectors solved the problem with only 1 installed back
