For a few years now, the multi-power in our 165 gasser didn't work. Didn't have the time to have it down in the shop, so we just kept using it. Every now & then I'd try another adjustment mentioned on here, and nothing worked.
All of a sudden, the multi-power started working a few weeks ago and is working fine now.
I can't remember if it had the loader on it already when it quit, but I'm wondering if dirty oil would do this? When we had the current loader modified to mount on the 165, I plumbed it to use the transmission as the reservoir for a crankshaft driven pump. I used too small of a suction line, so I left out the filter I had planned to put in it because the oil barely flowed at all in the winter time. This fall/winter I finally made it right, using a larger suction line and re-routing the return as well, and I then put in the filter I had bought for it back then. Since I had to open the transmission side cover, I drained it and put in all new perma-tran again.
Could it have been clogged with debris from not filtering it good enough (extra dirt from the remotes on the loader) that made it quit working, and now it's finally been cleaned out by the new/filtered oil?
Now I just need to try adjusting the PTO clutch sometime.
